William Chandler.
Born about 1635, probably at Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, England; son of William Chandler and Annis Bayford.

On 2 February 1686, he was licensed to keep a publick house of entertainment in the town of Andover...and to sell Sider, bear, wine and strong liqour. In 1692, the pro-hibition against Dice, Cards, Tables Quoits, Loggets, Bowles, Ninepins, Billiards or any other unlawful Game or Games was added. This licence was renewed several times until his death.

William Chandler left a will on 15 September 1697 in Andover, Essex County, Massachusetts.

He died on Monday, 18 August 1698 in Andover, Essex County, Massachusetts, at age 62 years, 4 months and 29 days.

In 1678, Walter Wright came to the Chandler homestead and sought to shoot their horse, who he claimed had strayed into his lot the night before and caused 40 shillings worth of damage. William got into a tussle with Goodman Wright, who gashed him on the face with a knife during the fight. A month later both appeared in court. William, married Sarah Buckmaster.
