John ADAMS. [Familytree].
Born on 1 January 1555 in (Barton St. David-S6)(Farleigh Hungerford, Mendip District-S7), Somersetshire, England; son of Henry ADAMS and (Rose?). (S6).

He was christened on 7 August 1595 in St Botolph, A, Somersetshire, England. (S?).

John Adams lived all his life in Barton St. David, Somersetshire, where he was a husbandman, succeeding to his father's occupancy of the copy-hold land. At the age of 40 he became administrator of his father's estate.

He married Agnes, (possibly STONE-S1)(STONE-S2,S3,S7) on 1 February 1575 in England. (S7).

He made his will on 19 March 1603-1604 (S4) in Barton St. David, Somersetshire, England.(S?).

His will names his unmarried son Henry as executor. (S11).

Summary of the will of John -1) ADAMS (ADAMS genealogy 41):

His will was exhibited 26 June 1609, by Roger WARFIELD of Charlton Adam, who was made guardian of John's children, John and Katherene. (S11).

In the Diocesan Records there is a bond for administraton for this estate by widow Agnes dated 7 Aug 1605. (S11).

John Adams died after his will was drawn, but before he could sign it. (S11).

He died after 22 March 1603-1604 at Barton St. David, Somersetshire, England (S5); and was buried 22 March 1603-1604 (S4) in the St. David Churchyard, Barton St David, Somersetshire, England, but no tombstone has been found for John Adams. (S7).

WIFE:
Agnes. (Stone?)
Born on 1 January 1556 in Barton, St. David, Somersetshire, England.

Said to be the daughter of John Stone and Agnes, of Barton Stl David, Somersetshire, England. However, see the note below. There is much confusion about who she was and who Agnes Stone married. She possbily did not have the maiden name Stone, but was a widow Stone.

She married John ADAMS on 1 February 1575 at Barton St. David, Somersetshire, England. (S7,S8).

[NOTE: She is said to have married (2) Richard ADAMS in (1576-S2)(1578-S3) in Somersetshire, England, but husband John didnít die until 1604. Therefore she must be a different Agnes than married Richard. It is also apparent that the dates for Richard and John are being mixed together:

Richard ADAMS, said to be the (son of Henry Adams and Rose-S3,S9)(son of John Adams and Margerye Squire-S10), was born (on 17 June 1530-S10)(in 1552-S3,S9) in Barton, St. David, Somersetshire, England. (S3,S9). He was christened on 7 August 1595 in Barton, St David, Somersetshire, England. (S3,S9). He married (1) Agnes STONE in 1576 or 1578 in Somersetshire, England. (S3,S9). He married (2) Margaret Armager (S3) in Devonshire, England. (S9). He died on 19 March 1604 in Barton, St. David, Somersetshire, England. (S3,S9). He was buried on 22 March 1603 in Barton St David, Somersetshire, England. (S3,S9).]
Margaret Armager is said to have been born in 1532 at Barton St. David; and to have married Richard Adams on 3 March 1549 in Thronbury, Gloucestershire, England. (S10). This is an entire generation separation.

Agnes died on 15 January 1615 in Barton, St. David, Somersetshire, England. She was buried on 15 January 1616 in Barton St. David, Somersetshire, England.
